Paragliding

Starting with paragliding in 1999 I have been flying at several places in Europe. It became the second priority in my life (the first one is my family, of course).

Video coverage of flights became possible when I bought my first action cam in 2010. Take a look at a few samples listed below. You might have a look at my channels at youtube and vimeo as well.

Areas where I have been flying so far:

Germany:  Wasserkuppe, Ippesheim, Stapelburg, Oppenau

Austria: Neustift, Fulpmes, Westendorf, Bach, Greifenburg, Tannheim, Ellmau

Italy: Rodeneck, Lüsen, Suello, Bergamo, Meduno, Bassano, Sexten, Seiser Alm, Sand i.T.

The Stubai Valley (Austria)

The Stubai Valley has one of the best infrastructures for paragliders all over the Alps.

Moreover, bad weather seems to be moving around this valley most of the times.

Greifenburg - Emberger Alm (Austria)

Greifenburg is situated in the Drau Valley at the south-eastern part of the Alps. Weather conditions for paragliding are mostly better than in the northern Alps. Flying season lasts from April to October. All over this period thermals are easy to find. For more information have a look at fliegercamp.at

Babadag (Turkey)

That's the spot for relaxed flying even if the launch might be a little bit challenging sometimes. The landscape is just gorgeous. And even without thermals you can enjoy about 30 minutes gliding down from the rough mountain to the lovely beach.

Since 2015:

I decided not to fly there anymore as long as the  actual political situation in Turkey lasts.

Davos (Switzerland)

Best flying season is wintertime.

Westendorf (Austria)

Westendorf (Choralpe) has an infrastructure for paragliders similar to the Stubai Valley - even if you have to walk about 600m from the cable car to the launch site. For more information have a  look at: www.para.at

Oppenau (Germany)
